DAYTON – The Urbana, Graham and WL-S boys bowling teams each qualified for the district tournament after placing in the top 12 of the Division II sectional on Wednesday.

UNION CITY, Ohio – Mechanicsburg nipped Mississinawa Valley, 66-65, in non-league girls basketball Monday night.

In the Division II boys basketball sectional at Springfield High School on Feb. 20, Graham will play Northridge at 6 p.m. and Urbana will play Eaton at 8 p.m.

The Graham wrestlers traveled to New Lexington High School on Saturday to compete in the OHSWCA Dual Meet State Championship.

This past weekend, members of Team Champ Swim, comprised of student-athletes from Urbana, Graham, West Liberty-Salem, Mechanicsburg and Triad, headed to sectional swim meets at two separate locations.

WEST LIBERTY – Lilly Weaver scored a game-high 16 points as WL-S held off Mechanicsburg, 39-36, in OHC girls basketball Thursday night.

Another Cincinnati native recently joined the team on a minor league deal with a chance to prove himself during spring training. Infielder, Josh Harrison and former UC Bearcat looks to make a splash over the next month and a half to make the roster and he certainly is capable of doing so. In his career, he is a .270 batter, holds a .316 OBP, and is a 2 time All-Star. With these stats, you might be asking why he is on a minor league deal, but in 2023 he had the worst year of his career with a batting average of .204 and he is approaching 37 years old. However, he looks to bounce back this season and add veteran presence that is much needed to this ballclub.

The Mechanicsburg girls bowling team defeated Jonathan Alder, 2,396-2,093, in non-league bowling on Wednesday.

Team Champ swimmers from West Liberty-Salem, Triad and Mechanicsburg competed in the Metro Buckeye Conference, Ohio Heritage Conference and Three Rivers Conference Swim Invitational on Saturday.

Urbana and Mechanicsburg each landed No. 1 seeds in the girls basketball sectional.
