UHS clinches share of KTD title in boys hoops

PLAIN CITY – Urbana knocked off Jonathan Alder, 61-52, in CBC/KTD boys basketball Friday night.

With the victory, UHS clinched a share of the KTD title with Kenton Ridge at 8-2.

The Hillclimbers led, 34-30, at the half.

The league title is Urbana’s third in a row, with the previous two coming in the CBC/MRD.

For UHS, Will Donahoe had 24 points and Kayden Jacobs added 12.

On Saturday, Urbana defeated visiting Triad, 63-30, in non-league boys basketball.

UHS led, 42-20, at the half.

For the Hillclimbers (14-8), Donahoe had 24 points and Drake Dixon added 15.

Triad wins

ENON – Triad rallied to beat Greenon, 64-61, in OHC boys basketball Thursday night.

Greenon led, 25-23, at the half.

For the Cardinals (5-17), Kane Bailey had 22 points.

Indians fall

MECHANICSBURG – Waynesfield-Goshen upended Mechanicsburg, 48-45, in non-league boys basketball Saturday night.

W-G led, 23-21, at the half.

For the Indians (3-19), Lane Poland had 15 points and 11 rebounds and Josh Titus added 11 points.

On Friday, Shekinah Christian downed visiting Mechanicsburg, 63-56, in non-league boys basketball.

Keegan Freeze had 17 points for the Indians.

Graham loses

SPRINGFIELD – Shawnee held off Graham, 40-35, in CBC/MRD boys basketball Friday night.

Shawnee led, 18-14, at the half.

The Falcons are now 7-15, 2-8.
