Indians, Tigers earn wins in football

MECHANICSBURG – The Indians jumped out to a 42-0 lead in the first quarter en route to a 55-0 win over Covington in non-league football Friday night.

For the Indians, quarterback Jayden Roland passed and rushed for two touchdowns.

Liam Smith, Kailen Butler and Fred Caudill each had a receiving touchdown and Conley Bogard, Charlie Bradford and Gabe Hursey each had a rushing touchdown.

Roland completed 3 of 6 pass attempts for 113 yards.

The Indians (2-0) play at Madison Plains this Friday night.

WL-S 42, B. Logan 41

WEST LIBERTY – Gabe McGill rushed for 267 yards and four touchdowns as WL-S rallied to beat Ben Logan, 42-41, in non-league football Friday night.

The Tigers trailed, 21-7, at the end of the first quarter.

Quarterback Miles Hostetler added a rushing touchdown for WL-S and Andre Jones returned a kickoff for a TD.

Ben Logan (1-1) had 479 total yards compared to 353 for WL-S.

The Tigers (1-1) play at Springfield Catholic Central this Friday night.

N. Union 35, Triad 0

NORTH LEWISBURG – North Union defeated Triad, 35-0, in non-league football Friday night.

North Union (2-0) led, 21-0, at the half.

For Triad, quarterback Cayden Everhart completed 7 of 14 pass attempts for 42 yards.

The Cardinals (0-2) host Cedarville this Friday night.
