Graham falls to St. Edward in wrestling


Lakewood St. Edward defeated Graham, 30-26, in the annual wrestling dual between the two powerhouses.

Graham’s Kavan Sarver (195 pounds) won his match by pin over Zach Kincaid. Jordan Crace (120, dec), John Stickley (138, TF), Joey Sanchez (145, dec), Ryan Thomas (160, dec), Gage Braun (182, dec) and Johnny Shafer (285, dec) each won matches for the Falcons in the dual.

Urbana girls win

Urbana defeated Greenon, 68-51, in CBC interdivisional girls basketball on Saturday.

Urbana held a narrow edge at halftime, but out-scored the Knights 19-7 in the third quarter.

Madisyn Horn had 19 points and 12 rebounds, Hunter Rogan scored 17 and pulled down 11 boards and Alaina Lyons had 14 points for UHS.

Indian girls win

Mechanicsburg defeated Riverside, 67-50, in non-league girls basketball on Saturday.

Mikayla Dodane had 21 points, Kasey Schipfer had 16 points and 7 rebounds, Morgan Hamby had 15 points and Emma Jones scored 11 for the Indians.

Mechanicsburg won the jayvee game, 17-13. Mackenzie Wilson had 8 points for the Indians.

Indian boys lose

Mechanicsburg lost to Yellow Springs, 69-67, in non-league boys basketball on Saturday.

Chris Taylor had 18 points and 7 rebounds, Logan Hurst had 14 points, Joey Mascadri had 13, Mack DeLong had 11 and Camron Atchison had 9 points and 9 rebounds for the Indians.

Yellow Springs won the jayvee game, 44-29. Mack DeLong had 11 points for the Indians.

JH basketball

Urbana fell to Riverside in 7th grade boys basketball, 30-24. Aaron Norris and Michael Peterson each had 10 points for UJHS.

Urbana won the 8th grade boys game, 56-46. Nolan Smith had 19 points and Wyatt Teets had 11 for UJHS.

Riverside beat Urbana, 22-16, in 8th grade girls basketball.

The Urbana girls won the 7th grade game, 44-0. Maleah Murphy had 12 points for UJHS.
