On Wednesday, Champaign County held a ceremony to swear in county officeholders who won election to new terms in November. All were incumbents and all are Republicans.
The ceremony was held in the auditorium of the Champaign County Community Center.
Starting new terms in office are Treasurer Robin Edwards, Sheriff Matt Melvin and all his deputies, Coroner Dr. Joshua Richards, Prosecutor Kevin Talebi, Recorder Glenda Bayman, Clerk of Courts Penny Underwood and County Commissioners Steve Hess and David Faulkner. Engineer Stephen McCall also begins a new term but was not able to attend the ceremony.
