WL-S girls suffer first loss of the season


TIPP CITY – WL-S suffered its first loss of the season, 52-45, to Tipp in non-league girls basketball.

The Tigers led, 28-25, at the half, but WL-S was out-scored, 27-17, in the second half.

Tipp (6-1) was 18 of 25 from the charity stripe while WL-S was 8 of 10.

For the Tigers (9-1), Lily Yoder had 13 points and Gabby Hollar added 12.

Tipp won the jayvee game, 41-21. Camrin Rice and Mya King each had 9 points for WL-S.

M’burg girls fall to BL

BELLEFONTAINE – Ben Logan beat Mechanicsburg, 76-45, in non-league girls basketball.

Ben Logan led, 22-7, at the end of the first quarter and 39-23 at the half.

For the Indians, Mikayla Dodane and Kasey Schipfer each had 16 points.

Ben Logan won the jayvee game, 22-20. Emma Jones had 9 points for Mechanicsburg.

UU falls to Ball State

MUNCIE, Ind. – The Urbana University women’s basketball team fell to Ball State, 93-49, Wednesday night in an exhibition game.

Megan Beachy paced the Blue Knights with 23 points.

UU hosts West Virginia Wesleyan on Tuesday at 5:30 p.m.
