Southeastern downs Indians

MECHANICSBURG – Southeastern defeated Mechanicsburg, 49-30, in OHC boys basketball Friday night.

Mechanicsburg led, 11-10, at the end of the first quarter but Southeastern rallied to take a 23-17 lead at the half.

The visitors owned a 33-27 lead after three periods, but out-scored the Indians, 16-3, in the fourth quarter.

Bobby Welch paced Mechanicsburg with 10 points and 7 rebounds and Mack Cushman added nine points.

The Indians shot only 28 percent from the field.

Southeastern’s Jake Bertemes led all scorers with 26 points.

The Trojans improve to 7-1 overall and 3-0 in the OHC while the Indians drop to 1-3, 1-2.

Mechanicsburg plays at Triad on Tuesday.

WL-S tops Greeneview

JAMESTOWN – Kannon Stillings had a team-high 14 points as WL-S beat Greeneview, 46-22, in OHC boys basketball on Friday.

The Tigers led, 12-3, at the end of the first quarter and 24-10 at the intermission.

WL-S owned a 36-16 lead heading into the fourth quarter.

The Tigers are now 4-1 overall and 3-0 in the OHC.

Greeneview is 1-5, 1-2.

WL-S hosts Miami East tonight in non-league action.
