Visiting Benjamin Logan defeated Urbana, 1-0, in Division II girls sectional soccer on Monday.
The Hillclimbers contolled the game for the majority of play, winning several balls at midfield and creating chances offensively.
“Sometimes you out-play people in soccer and it doesn’t go your way,” UHS Coach Bradon Deskins said. “We controlled most of the game, just couldn’t find the back of the net.”
Urbana out-shot Ben Logan, 17-9.
“I’m proud of these seniors,” Deskins said. “They’ve kinda put us back on the map. These girls have earned the respect of the league.”
Benjamin Logan had a couple of good looks also but was turned away by Urbana keeper Sara Lingrell on a couple of occasions before Hayley Boysel scored with just over eight minutes remaining in the second half.
The Hillclimbers finish the season 5-10-2 while Benjamin Logan advances and improves to 6-9-2.
WL-S wins in volleyball
WL-S defeated Arcanum, 25-11, 20-25, 10-25, 25-19, 15-12, in Division III sectional volleyball on Monday.
For the Tigers (19-4), Jamie Peterson had 32 kills, 7 total blocks 11 digs and 5 ace serves,. Autumn Walborn had 4 kills, Olivia Ames had 12 digs and 2 ace serves, Kylie Gilroy had 39 assists and 3 kills, Emily Schultz had 9 digs and Kaylee Harrison had 3 kills.
Urbana volleyball advances
NEW CARLISLE – Urbana defeated Greenville, 25-12, 25-14, 25-9, in Division II sectional volleyball at Tecumseh on Monday.
Hunter Rogan had 14 kills, Mckenzee Martin had 8 kills, Olivia Dunham had 23 assists and Katy Curnutte had 10 digs for the Hillclimbers.
Urbana advances to play Tippecanoe at Tecumseh High School on Wednesday at 7:30 p.m.

In 8th grade football, Graham beat Urbana, 46-0.
