MECHANICSBURG – Mechanicsburg defeated Fairlawn, 11-2, in the Division IV baseball sectional on Tuesday. The game was originally scheduled for Monday, but was rained out.

The Indians got a complete game win out of Keane Dunn. He went seven innings, allowing three hits and striking out seven. Dunn also had a double and 3 RBI.

Corey Bogan was 2 for 2 with 2 RBI and 2 walks, Joey Butsch was 1 for 2 with 2 walks and 3 runs scored, Tim Miller had an RBI and Drew Myers had a double with an RBI.

The Indians had complete control of the game from the outset, scoring three runs in the bottom of the first.

Fairlawn never threatened, and M’burg was a hit away from run-ruling the visitors when the boys in purple loaded the bases late in the game.

Fairlawn misplayed several balls, committing three official errors while also missing a handful of pop-ups and allowing a couple of hits on late throws.

That all added up to a lot of base running for the Indians, who have to find a way to recover before Wednesday’s game.

“No rest for the weary, we’re right back at it tomorrow,” M’burg Coach Bryan Eyink said.

The Indians play at Fort Loramie on Wednesday, with the first pitch slated for 5 p.m.
