Matt’s Take: No excuses … beat the Brewers
After a very disappointing series loss to a bad Mets squad, the Cincinnati Reds go right into playing the Brewers, an NL-Central Opponent who has dominated our club in years past. I love scoreboard watching towards the end of the season, but one thing we all need to understand is the importance of all 162 games. Too often do we overlook these early series against opponents that we will be fighting against for a playoff spot in just a few months. Cincinnati is currently 2.5 games back from first place, but they have a chance to really make up some ground against Milwaukee and the rest of the teams in our division if they find a way to win this series. No more excuses, warm up the bats, and let’s go dominate Milwaukee before heading to Chicago!

OHSAA expands football 7-on-7 opportunities
COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Ohio High School Athletic Association has announced that football 7-on-7 competition is now permitted at any time prior to and after the football season, other than the 28-day no-contact period immediately after the season. Previously, 7-on-7 competition was not permitted until May 15. Full practice and hitting are still not permitted during 7-on-7 play, with helmets and cleats being the only equipment permitted.

Matt’s Take – How could I forget about the Rally Reds?
With two outs and nobody on base and India approaching the plate, I posted a tweet that losing a series to the Nationals was not ideal to begin the season-And boy did I hear it from some fans! How could I forget that this Reds roster doesn’t stop until that final out? What a finish and what a nice Easter surprise for Reds Country! In all honesty, this should’ve been a sweep, but I will take a series win to begin the year. On to the Phillies to continue stacking some victories…
