The 2024 Mercy Health – Urbana Hospital Physician of the Year is Dr. Parag Amin.

For Doctors Day, Mercy Health asked staff and patients to nominate their favorite doctors and the feedback in Urbana was overwhelming.

Dr. Amin is an emergency medicine physician who joined Mercy Health in 2016.

Emergency Services Nurse Manager Kristin West wrote in her nomination that “Dr. Amin is a calming presence. You always know it’s going to be a great day when he is on shift! He has a great bedside manner with both patients and staff members. He is always willing to explain when staff has questions. If we could pick, we would have him on our schedule every day!”

Dr. Amin graduated medical school in 2013 from Wright State University Boonshoft School of Medicine and completed his residency in Emergency Medicine in 2016 at the St. John Hospital and Medical Center in Detroit, Michigan. He’s been on Mercy Health’s medical staff ever since.
