UHS, WL-S earn wins in girls hoops

Peyton Mounce had 25 points, 9 rebounds and 5 assists as Urbana defeated visiting Indian Lake, 56-46, in CBC girls basketball on Saturday.

The Hillclimbers led, 29-24, at the half.

For UHS (9-4, 4-1), Reagan Cotner had 10 points, 6 rebounds and 3 blocks and Alex Dixon added 8 points.

Urbana plays at North Union this Saturday.

WL-S wins

WEST LIBERTY – Megan Hollar scored a game-high 13 points as WL-S nipped Cedarville, 40-39, in OT in OHC girls basketball on Saturday.

For the Tigers (8-6, 6-3), Lilly Weaver had 9 points and Bailey Poppe added 7.

Cedarville won the jayvee game, 31-24, in OT. Briley Sullivan had 10 points for the Tigers.

WL-S plays at Springfield Catholic Central on Thursday.

Graham loses

ST. PARIS – Ben Logan held off Graham, 52-49, in 2 OTs in CBC girls basketball on Saturday.

Ben Logan led, 23-14, at the half and the score was tied, 37-37, at the end of the fourth quarter.

Graham plays at Bellefontaine on Wednesday.

Triad falls

NORTH LEWISBURG – Springfield Catholic Central beat Triad, 46-32, in OHC girls basketball on Saturday.

For the Cardinals (1-12, 1-8), Abbey Overfield had 14 points, 3 steals and 6 rebounds, Kaley Nott added 8 points and 6 rebounds and Emma Ferguson added 6 points.

JH basketball

Urbana’s 8th grade girls beat Belmont, 43-4. Addi Hegyi had 18 points for UJHS.

Urbana’s 8th grade boys topped Belmont, 53-13. For UJHS, Grady Lantz had 17 points and BJ Potter added 8.

Urbana’s 7th grade boys downed Wogaman, 50-32. For UJHS, Case Teepe had 14 points and Roman Swain and Drew Dixon each added 8.

The WL-S 7th grade boys defeated Cedarville, 35-27. For the Tigers (7-0), Liam Barger had 10 points and Brayan Gullett added 8.
