The bank closed after the robbery. A sign on the front door said it was closed temporarily until further notice.

Peoples’ President and CEO Brian Nicol posted this statement to the bank’s social media page on Thursday afternoon:

“Unfortunately, today the bank experienced what we all hope never happens, our branch office was robbed. Thankfully no one was hurt and everyone is fine, but still processing what took place. We wish to thank the UPD for their quick response and professionalism in handling the investigation and hopefully, they will find this person, arrest and convict them. The staff did exactly what they were trained to do, and we are extremely grateful that no one got hurt. Please keep our branch staff in your thoughts and prayers as they continue to do their wonderful job of serving our valued customers and dealing with the stress of what events happened to them today. I, as well as the rest of the staff of PSB, are extremely proud of them and wish them a full recovery from today’s emotional event!”
