ST. PARIS – McKeever’s, Urbana, on Tuesday razed the structure at 517 S. Church St., St. Paris, property donated by the Ronald and Debbie Bair family to Habitat for Humanity Champaign County Ohio.
Two local families paid for the demolition of the house. HFHCCO plans to start building a new home on the property this month. It will be the nonprofit’s ninth home build.
In December 2016, HFHCCO dedicated its eighth home and handed the keys to Urbana resident Barb Brooks. The home, located at 218 Harmon Ave., is being shared by Brooks and her son, Daniel.
Marcia Ward, the local HFH’s volunteer executive director, expressed appreciation for the donation of the property and for funds donated to raze the property’s former structure. She also expressed appreciation to groups that have volunteered to assist with the new home build in St. Paris this year. They include the JSP Fire District, the St. Paris Police Department, Covenant Lutheran Church, St. Paris United Methodist Church, First Baptist Church and Graham Elementary and Middle schools.
