PAWS Animal Shelter (dog)

Hey, Corky here, and you gotta listen to my story. First things first. I am a loving Shepherd/Lab mix boy about 1 1/2 to 2 years old. I’m the cutest boy, everyone says. Ok, now for my story…..I was living at another shelter and my time was up..matter of fact, that shelter was going to euthanize me the following day but someone at that shelter contacted the nice people at PAWS Shelter and they came and saved me. All is good, right?? Nope..when I went in for my Vet check, the Vet found that I was HeartWorm positive. You know what that is? It’s those nasty little worms that get in a dog’s heart and kill us. Well, anyway, PAWS Shelter had me treated and it has been a long recovery but I am healed now. I am so hoping to find my furever home very soon…I’ve been here a long time. I get along with all the other doggies and I have the most soulful eyes, the humans here tell me. I like kids and I don’t know about the kitties yet. Please come and meet me. I think I am a miracle.

All of our dogs are looking for a loving home where they can be taken care of for the rest of their lives.

PAWS Animal Shelter (cat)

Put some sparkle in your life by adopting lovely Miss Sparkle. She is a pretty tiger and white cat with white paws. Her green eyes really stand out. Miss Sparkle is sweet and affectionate all in one cute little package. She would love to come home with you and be your forever friend. Miss Sparkle likes to sit on your lap or just hang out with you. She has a great purr and enjoys playing with the other cats at the shelter. Miss Sparkle likes to play with toys and greet everyone she meets. She is up to date on her shots and spayed. She has been wormed and she tested negative for feline leukemia. She always uses the litter box and is a very neat young lady. Miss Sparkle would love to find a cozy, loving home with your family.

This is puppy and kitten season. We often get in puppies or kittens with no mother. Consider fostering puppies or kittens. Sign up on our foster list. We are always looking for volunteers to come to the shelter and help out. You could play with the cats or dogs to help socialize them.

Champaign County Animal Welfare League

“Petting, scratching, and cuddling a dog could be as soothing to the mind and heart as deep meditation, and almost as good for the soul as prayer.” – Dean Koontz – Our little Tammy is willing and able to help you with soothing your mind and heart. She is a 5-year-old miniature Dachshund mix and weighs 17 pounds. Tammy loves to play ball, take walks and cuddle with her human. She is good with children and with cats. Tammy gets along with other dogs but would prefer to be the only one receiving your love and attention. She knows her obedience commands and enjoys the agility course. Tammy is not easily startled and will be happy at the dog park or at home.

As with all Champaign County Animal Welfare League (CCAWL) pets, Tammy was completely vetted before being put up for adoption. Tammy has been spayed, up to date on all vaccinations including rabies, worming, heart-worm testing and treated with flea and heart-worm prevention. CCAWL adopted dogs are all micro-chipped and have their 2016 dog license and dental cleaning. If you are interested in visiting Tammy or any other of the adoptable pets at CCAWL, please call us at 937-834-5236. We are located at 3858 State Route 56, Mechanicsburg, OH, 43044. Dog and Cat adoption applications can be found online at www.champaigncoanimalwelfareleague.com. You may fax an adoption application to 937-834-5171. A complete listing of our available pets may be found at www.petfinder.com and www.adoptapet.com.

CCAWL is a non-profit organization dedicated to the welfare of the pets of Champaign County. We always appreciate your donations of bleach, paper towels, collars, leashes, Clorox wipes and laundry detergent.

If you are looking to support CCAWL by volunteering, we would love to meet you. Applications may be picked up at our location. We also require proof of a current tetanus shot to accompany the completed application.

Barely Used Pets

Hey, somebody let everybody know there are Puppies In The House over here! We are Corgi/Jack Russell pups and we came to Barely Used Pets from another shelter. We are 3 months old and weigh around 15 pounds right now. A few of us are available now and the rest are on the schedule for our spay/neuter surgeries. We have been asking the other dogs around us what that means and they all get funny looks and change the subject…but we are sure we will find out about that “being fixed” thing one day real soon. We WERE 6 girls and 2 boys. Sylvester got adopted already…lucky dog! So we are down to 6 girls and 1 boy. We are having lots of fun here playing with toys and getting out on the playground, but we could sure use some company. Won’t you come out to see us and get your puppy fix?

Please visit our website: www.barelyusedpets.com. Also, like us on Facebook at Barely Used Pets Rescue (put spaces between the words). Barely Used Pets is at our new location of 844 Jackson Hill Road in Urbana, Ohio. You can give us a call at 937-869-8090. We are open Sunday 1-4pm, Wednesdays and Thursdays 10am-6pm, Fridays 10am – 5pm and Saturdays 11-2. We can always use donations and they are all of those basic supplies that we use so quickly. We need Lysol Lemon spray cleaner, paper towels, Clorox, Dawn dish soap (original), and laundry soap. We can also use the elevated pet beds by Kuranda (go to kuranda.com). Any donations are always appreciated. Please take a look at our website for other ideas for donations. Please note that our garage sale originally scheduled for August 20th has been delayed…we’ll be having it on October 8th! Please come out and see us at the Dublin Pet Fair on Sunday, September 25th. It will be at the Coffman Park Pavilion in Dublin and we will be there Noon – 5pm.

Thanks so much for considering us Corgi/JR kids and helping Barely Used Pets help all of us little ones find our forever homes.
