TROY – Mechanicsburg made sure David Harvey wasn’t going to be alone at the state track and field meet next week.
The Indians qualified a handful of athletes through at the Division III regional championships on Friday at Troy High School and ended up finishing in first place on the boys’ side.
The 4×200 relay team placed third to advance, running the race in 1:32.24. Bryce Waring won the 200 meter and Jared Butcher also got out to state with a second-place finish in the 400-meter run in 50.99. Harvey also followed up his qualification in the long jump with a third-place finish in the high jump at 6-04.
For West Liberty-Salem, Joey Adams qualified second in the 1,600-meter run with a time of 4:29.57 and the girls’ 4×400 team finished third in 4:05.64.
Competing but not qualifying for state for WL-S were Caylee Karg (300H) and Morgan Freyhof (100).
