Champaign County churches are planning a community-wide evening of praise and worship to be held 7 to 9 p.m. Saturday, April 16, at the Gloria Theatre, 216 S. Main St., Urbana.
The Faith Encounter Worship Night will feature music by praise groups from local churches as well as prayer and fellowship. Pastor Dan Leiker of River of Life Christian Center will serve as emcee and will be joined by other local pastors in offering prayer for the gathering.
Church praise groups that will help lead worship include:
•River of Life Christian Center
•Enabling Grace of Free Will Baptist Church in Woodstock
•Urbana First Baptist Church
•Urbana Church of the Nazarene
Jake Conley, praise and worship music chairperson, said, “Faith Encounter Worship Night will continue to strengthen our community in Christ as we worship together. We were encouraged by the outpouring of support and attendance at Faith Encounter 2015, held at the theater on four nights last fall. We want to continue providing opportunities like this to strengthen the unity of Christian churches in Champaign County and invite others to develop a relationship with Christ.”
Planning also is underway for 2016 Faith Encounter: Experiencing the Living Christ, which will be held Sept. 18-20 at the Gloria Theatre.
