Urbana High School freshman Jaxton Bloemhard, left, and senior Robert Daniels, right, participated in the Champaign County Science Day at Urbana University. Daniels’ project involved the use of electronics to modify the firing mechanism of an air-soft device. Bloemhard’s project, about mealworms eating styrofoam, was awarded the highest score in the county. Both students received superior ratings, making them eligible to participate in the Upper Miami Valley District Science Day on Feb. 27 at Edison State Community College.
