NORTH LEWISBURG – Northeastern beat Triad, 61-43, in OHC girls basketball on Friday.

The Cardinals are now 0-1 while the Jets improve to 2-0, 1-0.

Northeastern led, 17-7, at the end of the first quarter and 37-25 at the half.

The Jets owned a 47-36 lead heading into the final period.

For Triad, Jenna Ober had a game-high 25 points and Alea Ferguson added 9.

There was no jayvee game.

The Cardinals host West Jefferson on Monday with the jayvee game beginning at 6 p.m.
