NORTH LEWISBURG – A Champaign County man’s participation in a local blood drive won him a $500 gas card.
During the month of July, the American Red Cross and Marathon Oil teamed up to recruit blood donors throughout central Ohio. As added motivation, everyone who donated blood during the month was entered into a drawing for the gas card provided by Marathon Oil.
Of the nearly 15,000 individuals who participated in the contest, North Lewisburg resident Bryce Brown’s name was drawn as the grand prize winner.
Brown was entered into the drawing after giving blood during a drive hosted by the Northeast Champaign County Fire District on July 9.
“I would like to congratulate Bryce Brown for winning the $500 gas card and thank him for donating blood over the years,” NECCFD Chief Mike Penhorwood said.
The NECCFD will host its next next blood drive from 1 to 7 p.m. on Nov. 25 at the North Lewisburg Municipal Building, 60 E. Maple St.
