Deputy Andrew Ervin of the Champaign County Sheriff’s Office participated in the Ohio Police and Fire Games June 14-19 in Youngstown and won two Gold Medals, placing first in combat shooting and in the hand gun Steel Challenge. Various law enforcement officers across Ohio competed in the hand gun competitions.

The purpose of the event is to support the physical and mental fitness of Ohio’s active and retired law enforcement and firefighter personnel, as well as active and reserve military police and firefighters, by promoting the concept of physical fitness and sport within their communities through the development, organization and coordination of sporting events.
