The Associated Press recently released its All-Ohio selections for boys basketball players in Divisions II, III and IV.
Triad senior Ryan Boyd has been named to the Division IV All-Ohio honorable mention team.
Boyd is the second-leading scorer in school history and helped lead this year’s Triad squad to the sectional semifinal.
The Ohio Heritage Conference also released its All-Conference selections on Tuesday.
Boyd was also named to the All-OHC First Team, where he was joined by West Liberty-Salem’s Austin Miller and Kannon Stillings.
Triad’s Colby Watson was selected to the All-OHC’s Second Team.
Hadley LeVan (THS), Ross Kelley (WL-S), Bobby Welch (MHS) and Mack Cushman (MHS) were each named honorable mention.
In girls basketball, Jamie Peterson was named the OHC Player of the Year, following her selection to the first-team All-Ohio squad.
Joining Peterson on the conference’s First Team list was Jenna Ober of Triad.
Mechanicsburg’s Mikayla Dodane and West Liberty-Salem’s Lily Yoder were selected to the Second Team.
Mikalia McIntosh (WL-S) and Elly Schipfer (MHS) were named honorable mention.
Triad Youth Wrestlers had 14 wrestlers qualify for the Oh-Way State Wrestling Championships last weekend, with four wrestlers earning placement. The squad finished 58th as a team out of 256 teams.
Aidan O’Neal placed 3rd at Division 1, 58 pounds, going 2-2 with two pins. Logan Harper placed 6th at Division 2, 64 pounds, going 3-3 with two pins and one decision. Lindsey Walborn placed 7th at Girls 8U, 59-plus pounds, going 1-2 with one pin. Drue Instine placed 7th at Division 4, 76 pounds, going 4-2 with one pin and three decisions.
Graham AD leaves
Graham High School Athletic Director Jordan Shumaker was hired this week for the same job at Vandalia Butler.
Shumaker has been at Graham since August of 2014.
