Fire damages rural house

Reports of smoke coming from the second floor and roof brought several fire agencies in to 6282 E. U.S. Route 36 Tuesday afternoon. Mechanicsburg, Urbana and West Liberty responded to the scene. The fire was extinguished shortly after responders arrived and traffic flow was controlled by the Champaign County Sheriff’s Office along Route 36 during the incident.
