PAWS Animal Shelter (cat)

Giselle is definitely a sweetheart! Give her a chance and she will climb into your heart. Giselle is an attractive tiger cat with adorable markings. She is sweet and affectionate, all in one cute package. She would love to come home with you and be your forever friend. Giselle likes to sit on your lap or just hang out with you. She has a great purr and enjoys playing with the other cats at the shelter. She is up to date on her shots and spayed. She has been wormed and she tested negative for feline leukemia. She is litter box trained. Giselle would love to find a forever home with your family.

Stop by Paws Animal Shelter, 1535 W. U.S. Route 36, Urbana, Ohio 43078, or call Paws Animal Shelter at 937-653-6233. The Shelter hours are Tuesday-Friday 12-5 p.m., Saturday 12-4 p.m., Sunday and Monday-closed. You can email us at [email protected]. Visit us at www.facebook.com/paws.urbana. There are many wonderful cats, adorable kittens and fun-loving dogs at the shelter waiting for good homes. Paws Animal Shelter needs donations of Purina Kitten Chow, Purina Complete Cat Chow, Purina Dog Chow and Purina Puppy Chow. We also could use donations of bleach, laundry detergent and clumping cat litter.

PAWS Animal Shelter (dog)

Meet Reece, a female Pug/Beagle. Reece is an spayed adult girl who needs a home. She is very shy and hesitant until she feels comfortable with her surroundings and her human. Then she is all over you with kisses and love. Reece is a bit on the pudgy side and could stand to lose a few pounds to make her more active. She likes to sit in the kennel yard in the sun and take in the scenery. Please come and meet her.

All of our dogs are looking for a loving home where they can be taken care of for the rest of their lives.

Barely Used Pets

Hi! My name is Rover and I am a dachshund boy. I am 8 years old and weigh only 13 pounds. I also qualify for Barely Used Pets Seniors-for-Seniors program. Ask them about it. It’s a great program! My people left me at another shelter and I was pretty upset about the whole thing. So I was brought here and I was still upset. But the people here worked and worked and worked with me to help me understand that it will be alright. It really will. They are so good to me and I am much happier now. I run and play with all of the other dogs every day. You should see us out on the playground…my legs may be short, but that doesn’t mean I can’t keep up. I know I’m finally ready…for MY new forever family. So please think about taking me home and I will do my best to be the best boy you ever, ever had! Please be my new forever family.

Please visit our website: www.barelyusedpets.com. Also, like us on Facebook at Barely Used Pets Rescue (put spaces between the words). Barely Used Pets is located at 844 Jackson Hill Road in Urbana, Ohio. You can give us a call at 937-869-8090. We are open Sunday 1-4pm, Wednesday and Thursdays 11am-6pm, Fridays 11am-5pm and Saturday 11am-2pm. We are closed on Monday and Tuesday. We can always use donations and they are all of those basic supplies that we use so quickly. We need Clorox the most right now if you can drop off a couple of gallons for us! We need Lysol Lemon spray cleaner, paper towels, Dawn dish soap (original), and laundry soap. We can also use the elevated pet beds by Kuranda (go to kuranda.com). Any donations are always appreciated. Please take a look at our website for other ideas for donations.

Thanks so much for considering me and helping Barely Used Pets help all of us little ones find our forever homes. OK…so what are you waiting for? Let’s go home!

Champaign County Animal Welfare League

This week we are introducing our Abby. Abby is a 2-year-old Terrier mix who came to us when her previous owner lost their home. Abby also came very pregnant and delivered seven puppies shortly after her arrival. She has fulfilled her duties as a mother and is now ready to go to her new forever home. Abby weighs 20 lbs and has been spayed, vaccinated including Rabies, heart worm tested, treated with a 3 month flea prevention and given heart worm prevention. As with all CCAWL adoptable pets, Abby has been microchipped and will come with her 2017 Dog License. Abby is very sweet and loving, she is good around other dogs and doesn’t bother cats.

She is also housebroken and knows basic obedience commands. If you would like to meet Abby or any of our CCAWL residents you may visit us at 3858 State Route 56, Mechanicsburg from 10:00 am – 4:00 pm everyday except Sunday & Tuesday. Later hours are available by appointment. For more information please feel free to call 937-834-5236.

To follow the progress of CCAWL and view our most recent arrivals please check out our Facebook page.

The Champaign County Animal Welfare League is a non-profit organization with no government funding. We rely on the support and donations of the public. If you would like to see what CCAWL is doing to support our county please stop out for a visit and/or read our mission and goals on our website at www.champaigncoanimalwelfareleague.com. A list of needed supplies can be found on our webpage.

With the temperature continuing to drop please be mindful of outside pets. If you see an animal needing help please contact the local Dog Warden as well as your local organizations. Be the voice for those who have no voice.

Giselle appreciates both people and cats, as evidenced by her great purr and love of laps. Check her out at PAWS Animal Shelter.

Reece is a shy gal until she gets to know a person. She loves sunning herself and watching the outside world and, probably, would be more active in it were she to lose a bit of weight. To be her new person, visit PAWS Animal Shelter.

8-year-old Rover loves to play with the other dogs at Barely Used Pets, but is ready for a home environment. He will appreciate a loving owner of any age, but is among dogs available to be part of the shelter’s Seniors-for-Seniors program, so you may want to contact the shelter for details.

The Champaign County Animal Welfare League reminds owners of pets, such as 2-year-old Abby, and non-owners alike to be mindful of pets during these frigid days and to contact the county dog warden at the sheriff’s office and local shelters if one (or more) seem to be lacking the best care. Abby was taken to the Welfare League when her owner lost their home. Now she has her 2017 dog license and is ready to be adopted and start her next chapter of life.
