SPRINGFIELD – Mercy Health Physicians has partnered with Villa Springfield to present a free lunch and learn session on genetic testing for cancers. The event takes place on Thursday, Nov. 7, at Linardos Villa Restaurant, 2230 E. Main St., Springfield.

Lunch begins at 11:30 a.m. At noon, Mercy Health Physician and surgeon Pamela Bucklew-Wilder, MD, FACS, will lead a presentation that explains genetic testing. She leads Mercy Health’s genetic testing clinic. “There are no risks associated with genetic testing. The benefit of testing is knowing if you have the gene,” she said.

The lunch and learn is free, but seating is limited. Those wishing to attend are asked to reserve seats by Nov. 5 by calling Anna Plataniotis at 937-215-7807.

Mercy Health genetic testing clinic is located at Mercy Health – Springfield & Urbana General & Laparoscopic Surgery, 30 W. McCreight Ave., Suite 106, Springfield. For more information, call 937-523-9820.
