COLUMBUS – The Mechanicsburg girls bowling team won the Division II Central District tournament to advance to next week’s state tournament in Columbus.
Mechanicsburg rolled a 3,489 followed by River Valley with a 3,387.
The Indians were led by Hannah Dingledine with a 624. Dingledine finished in second place as an individual to make the Central District all-tournament team.
Also for Mechanicsburg, Ashton Waller had a 533, Taylor Rausch a 514, Gwen Westfall a 456 and Faith Ford a 457.
The Mechanicsburg boys bowling team placed sixth at the district tourney with a 3,603 but did not qualify for state as a team.
Mechanicsburg’s Chris Ritchie qualified for state as an individual by winning the district tournament with a 682.
The state tournament will be held March 3-4 at Wayne Webb’s Columbus Bowl.
