COVINGTON – West Liberty-Salem defeated Greeneview, 60-23, in the Division III girls basketball sectional.
WL-S led, 21-13, at the end of the first quarter and the Tigers out-scored the Rams, 23-0, in the second quarter.
For the Tigers (14-10), Ava Astorino had 15 points, Chaley Wade had 14 and Megan Hollar added 11.
WL-S advances to play Preble Shawnee here on Monday at 6 p.m.
Graham falls
COVINGTON – Preble Shawnee knocked off Graham, 63-30, in the Division III girls basketball sectional.
The Falcons finish the season at 7-15 overall.
Bowling
The Mechanicsburg boys bowling team defeated Jonathan Alder, 2,730-2,365, in a non-league match.
The Indians (13-6) were led by Chris Ritchie with games of 260 and 212 for a 472 and Jordan Sadowski with games of 222 and 202 for a 424.
In the girls match, Mechanicsburg won, 2,106-1,913.
For the Indians (18-1), Ashton Waller had a 181-225 406, Hannah Dingledine a 214-144 358 and Taylor Rausch a 164-157 321.
The Mechanicsburg boys jayvee team was also in action and was led by Eli Freeze with games of 174 and 166 for a 340.
