WL-S, UHS, Graham earn wins in boys hoops


MECHANICSBURG – West Liberty-Salem beat Mechanicsburg, 54-30, in OHC boys basketball.

WL-S led, 26-7, at the half.

For the Tigers (10-9, 8-6), Taran Logwood had 17 points, Brevin Louden had 10 and Carson Poppe added 9.

WL-S won the jayvee game, 50-36. For the Tigers, JJ Johnson had 14 points.

WL-S won the 9th grade game, 39-7. For the Tigers, Garrett Wallen had 10 points.

Mechanicsburg (0-19, 0-14) did not report stats.

On Friday, WL-S plays at Triad and Mechanicsburg plays at Northeastern.

UHS prevails

RICHWOOD – Urbana defeated North Union, 55-39, in CBC/MRD boys basketball.

The Hillclimbers led, 30-25, at the half.

UHS (13-5, 7-1) hosts Indian Lake (10-9, 7-1) on Friday in a battle for first place in the MRD.

Graham wins

SPRINGFIELD – Graham upended Northwestern, 71-62, in CBC/MRD boys basketball.

The Falcons (8-11, 6-2) play at Ben Logan on Friday.

Triad falls

NORTH LEWISBURG – West Jefferson held off Triad, 53-50, in OHC boys basketball.

West Jefferson led, 34-24, at the half.

For the Cardinals (4-14, 4-10), Tyler Perry had 15 points and 4 assists and Kane Bailey added 13 points and 8 rebounds.

Triad hosts WL-S on Friday.
