WEST LIBERTY – Lilly Weaver hit a baseline jumper at the buzzer to give West Liberty-Salem a 78-77 win over West Jefferson in 2 OTs in OHC girls basketball.
For the Tigers (12-7, 10-3), Bailey Poppe had 17 points, Weaver and Chaley Wade each had 16, Ava Astorino had 15 and Megan Hollar added 12.
WL-S won the jayvee game, 27-25. For the Tigers, Laila Butler had 11 points.
The Tigers host Greenon Monday night.
UHS prevails
Alex Dixon had a game-high 25 points as Urbana defeated visiting Northwestern, 54-44, in CBC/MRD girls basketball.
UHS led, 30-22, at the half.
For the Hillclimbers (13-5, 7-2), Reagan Cotner and Peyton Mounce each had 9 points.
Urbana hosts Belmont tonight.
Triad wins
SPRINGFIELD – Triad beat Northeastern, 56-36, in OHC girls basketball.
The Cardinals led, 22-12, at the half.
For Triad (3-15, 2-11), Abbey Overfield had 11 points, 3 steals and 8 rebounds, Emma Ferguson had 10 points and 3 assists, Madi Cox had 10 points, Ashlyn McCoy had 9 points, 3 assists and 10 rebounds and Kaley Nott added 7 points and 4 assists.
Northeastern won the jayvee game, 15-12. For the Cardinals,. Hannah Russell had 5 points and 4 rebounds, Lilli Fitak had 4 points and 5 rebounds and Bre Parsons added 10 rebounds.
Triad plays at Fairbanks this afternoon.
Graham falls
RICHWOOD – North Union knocked off Graham, 51-25, in CBC/MRD girls basketball.
The Falcons trailed, 27-5, at the half.
Graham (5-13, 1-8) hosts London this afternoon.
JH basketball
West Liberty-Salem’s 7th grade boys team beat Northeastern, 50-18. For the Tigers (13-0), Beckett Sullivan had 12 points and Asher Cole added 9.
The WL-S 7th grade girls team defeated Northeastern, 26-13. For the Tigers (15-0), Arianna Weaver had 8 points and Lucy Cole and Ellery Wygal each added 5.
The Urbana 7th grade girls team beat Graham, 37-10.
The Urbana 8th grade girls team lost, 28-21.
Urbana’s 8th grade boys team defeated Graham, 52-24. For UJHS, Grady Lantz had 14 points and Kaden Underwood added 13.
The Urbana 7th grade boys team won, 56-25. For UJHS, Drew Dixon had 17 points and Crew Forson added 8.
