WL-S defeats Triad in girls hoops

NORTH LEWISBURG – Bailey Poppe scored a team-high 14 points as WL-S defeated Triad, 48-22, in OHC girls basketball.

WL-S led, 25-8, at the half.

For the Tigers (10-6, 8-3), Chaley Wade had 11 points and Megan Hollar added 8.

For the Cardinals (2-14, 1-10), Abbey Overfield had 14 points, Emma Ferguson had 6 rebounds and 2 steals and Kaley Nott added 3 assists.

WL-S won the jayvee game, 40-11. For the Tigers. Briley Sullivan had 8 points. For the Cardinals, Hannah Russell had 5 points and 5 rebounds and Mya James added 6 rebounds.

Today, Triad plays at Mechanicsburg and WL-S plays at Northeastern.

JH basketball

In 7th grade girls basketball, WL-S beat West Jefferson, 29-1. For the Tigers, Lucy Cole had 8 points and Isla Leichty added 5.

In 7th grade boys basketball, WL-S topped West Jefferson, 42-35. For the Tigers (12-0), Asher Cole had 15 points and Zade Beileski added 11.

Urbana’s 8th grade boys defeated London, 51-28. For UJHS, Grady Lantz had 18 points.

Urbana’s 7th grade boys lost, 45-43. For UJHS, Case Teepe had 21 points and Crew Forson added 10.

The Urbana 7th grade girls lost to London, 29-17. For UJHS, Miley Bell King had 6 points.

The Urbana 8th grade girls lost, 35-27. For UJHS, Addi Hegyi had 10 points and Brylee Spriggs added 7.
