MECHANICSBURG – The United States Air Force conducted a low altitude military flyover at 4 p.m. during the July 9, 2022 Mechanicsburg Summer Celebration.

The flyover showcased the “U.S. Air Force C-17 Globe Master” aircraft.

As “America the Beautiful” rang out over the public address system, spectators at Goshen Memorial Park were able to witness the aircraft’s low altitude approach (1,000 feet) from the east and make a single low level westward pass over the horse tracks of the lower park area.

This aerial event was conducted to pay tribute and honor to all Mechanicsburg area men and women who have proudly served in our nation’s armed forces. Their courage and sacrifices are truly worthy of recognition and we are truly grateful for their service.

The flyover was made possible by the efforts of the Mechanicsburg Fire Department, which oversaw the scheduling, planning and all communication with the United States Air Force to ensure a successful event. The aircraft pilots and crew consisted of Major Andrew Floro, 1st Lieutenant Logan Sisca and Captain Kyle Kozak from the 445th Air Lift Wing of Wright-Patterson Air Force Base.
