Springfield Masonic Community is partnering with the Ageless Aviation Dreams Foundation to provide eight U.S. veteran residents with individual flights in a restored 1940 Boeing Stearman biplane. This same aircraft was used to train military aviators during WWII.
The flights will take place on Aug. 23 starting at 9 a.m. at Grimes Field Airport. Each resident will spend about an hour with the plane including flight, pictures, etc. The event is expected to last until 5 p.m.
Springfield Masonic Community is a subsidiary of The Ohio Masonic Home, a non-profit organization.
