Blue Knights to host Notre Dame College

The Urbana University football will host in-state league rival Notre Dame College for Saturday’s Hall of Fame Day at UU Stadium.

The Blue Knights are honoring this year’s UU Hall of Fame inductee Dick Heath (‘74) at halftime with a post-game ceremony to take place inside the UU Student Center. Kickoff is scheduled for 1 p.m. ET, and the game has been selected as the Ohio Game of the Week and will be broadcast by Campus Nation.

UU enters the Week 7 matchup at 3-3 overall (2-3 MEC) following a 10-point setback last week at UVa-Wise (51-41), which snapped a three-game winning streak for the Blue Knights.

UU never led in the defeat, but trailed by only three points with under four minutes to play.

On Saturday, UU will look to win back-to-back home games for the first time in three years where it is only 2-11 at home since 2015. UU has already matched its win total from last season and another win would give UU its highest win total in four years. The last time UU started 3-3 it won five straight games to finish with the school’s best record ever in 2011 (8-3).

The Blue Knights are looking to bounce back Saturday in the seventh meeting against the Falcons. UU and NDC are even 3-3 in the all-time series after UU won the first three meetings while NDC has the most recent streak of three wins. UU is 2-1 at home against their MEC Ohio counterparts.

The Falcons won last year’s meeting in South Euclid, 35-14.

Notre Dame College is 5-1 (5-1 MEC) after a 19-14 victory against Fairmont State. NDC received three points in the latest AFCA Coaches Poll and under second-year head coach Mike Jacobs the Falcons are 14-3.

The Falcons rely on the ground game, running the ball over 50 times in each of its last four games. They rank seventh in the country with 267.7 rushing yards per game. Their only loss came against undefeated Shepherd, 54-49, in the season opener.
