Urbana University’s Harry Tamplin has been selected as this week’s Mountain East Conference Offensive Player of the Week in soccer, announced by league headquarters on Monday.

Tamplin, a native of Kings Langley, England, scored two goals including the game-winner in UU’s 5-4 thrilling win against Concord in overtime last Sunday.

Tamplin’s first goal of the season came on a 71st-minute penalty in which the sophomore captain put the Blue Knights ahead 3-2. Then, Tamplin struck a perfect header into the back of the net to score the Golden Goal halfway through the first extra period.

The Blue Knights improved to 4-3 overall (3-1 MEC) with the victory and remained unbeaten at home this season. UU returns to action Wednesday at Notre Dame (Ohio) in a 4 p.m. MEC tilt.
