ST. PARIS – Mary Breu will be featured in an Author Greet and Book Signing on Thursday, Sept. 7, from 4:30 to 6 p.m. in the St. Paris Public Library Kiser Room. The author of The Last Letters from Attu and the great-niece of Etta and Foster Jones of St. Paris, Breu gathered letters, an unpublished memoir and her own research to tell this true story of a nurse from New Jersey who began an inspiring adventure in 1922. The story recounts her journey to Alaska, falling in love with Foster Jones, 20 years teaching in remote Alaskan villages and her courageous survivor story as a POW after the invasion of Attu in the Aleutians.
