Crabill Homestead, within, C.J. Brown Reservoir area, open for season

SPRINGFIELD – The Crabill Homestead, 2800 Croft Road, within the C.J. Brown Reservoir area, will open for the season from 1 to 3 p.m. Saturday and Sunday, May 13 and 14. The homestead sits on the banks of the reservoir, overlooking land that belonged to David and Barbara Crabill until acquired by the U. S. Army Corp. of Engineers in 1968. See the four-room house that was home to David and Barbara and their 12 children. There is a $5 donation for visitors age 16 and older. Visitors age 15 and younger may enter free of charge.

The Crabill Homestead will continue to be open the second weekend each month: June 10 and 11; July 8 and 9; Aug. 12 and 13; Sept. 9 and 10; and Oct. 14 and 15. Check out the Facebook page and website.
