Isaac Jordan named Big Ten Wrestler of the Week

MADISON, Wis. – Bringing hundreds of fans to their feet and sending the UW Field House into hysterics is a surefire way to earn a Big Ten Conference Wrestler of the Week honor, and that’s exactly what Wisconsin’s Isaac Jordan did.

The senior captain from Graham High School garners the third Big Ten Wrestler of the Week accolade of his career after claiming his first top-five win of the season.

It all came down to the last 10 seconds where third-ranked 165-pounder Jordan trailed Penn State’s No. 4 Vincenzo Joseph, 4-2.

But just when it seemed like hope was lost, Jordan came through and used a last-second reversal to force the match into sudden victory. Just 30 seconds into the sudden victory period, Jordan blindsided Joseph and took him down to clinch the final 6-4 decision and send the UW Field House into bedlam.

The last Wisconsin wrestler of the week was Connor Medbery on Nov. 15, 2016.

The Badgers’ three Big Ten Wrestler of the Week honors in a season already rank second in the UW record books for most honors in a season, just one shy short of the all-time record.
