Tigers knock off Raiders in basketball

West Liberty-Salem defeated Benjamin Logan, 56-50, in non-league boys basketball on Saturday.

Kannon Stillings had 19 points to lead the Tigers.

In the jayvee game, WL-S won, 42-37. Cody King had 15 points for the Tigers.

On Friday, Greeneview defeated West Liberty-Salem, 66-42.

Stillings had 10 points and Tyler Louden scored 9 for the Tigers.

Graham girls prevail

Graham beat Northwestern, 46-29, in CBC/MRD girls basketball.

For the Falcons, Bethany Horner had 12 points, Kari Sollenberger had 12, Kayla Tullis had 11 and Sarah Flora added 6.

Northwestern won the jayvee game, 44-37. Madi Vanscoy had 20 points for the Falcons.

M’burg girls win

Mechanicsburg defeated Northeastern, 69-44, in OHC girls basketball.

Mikayla Dodane had 23 points, 6 assists and 8 rebounds to lead the Indians. Kasey Schipfer had 10 points, Emma Jones had 9, Meagan Hux had 8 and Morgan Hamby added 8.

Lakers top ‘Climbers

Indian Lake defeated Urbana, 63-51, in CBC inter-divisional girls basketball.

Hunter Rogan had 18 points and 8 rebounds, Deserae Johnson had 10 rebounds and Madisyn Horn had 11 points for UHS.

Graham boys win

Graham defeated Benjamin Logan on Friday in CBC/MRD boys basketball, 62-38.

GHS got 16 points from Matt Goddard, while Tristen Henry had 14 and Tyler Powell scored 13.

Tigers wrestling

West Liberty-Salem competed at the Benjamin Logan jayvee wrestling invitational.

Tanner Workman (120 pounds) won his class with 2 pins. Charlie Williams (160) won his class with 3 pins. Ely Serna (170) won his class with 3 pins. Zayne Reed (182) went 2-1 with 2 pins and finished second.

Cardinals wrestling

Triad finished sixth at the Tri-County North Invitational on Saturday, with only five wrestlers competing.

Zackary Zizzo won his class at 145 pounds and was voted the tournament’s MVP.

Josiah Leasure (285) and Dalton Overfield (126) each finished third.

Tigers bowling wins

West Liberty-Salem defeated Greeneview, 1,910-1,568, in OHC boys bowling.

Mike Price had a 203 game, Treven Marchal a 189 and Isaac Riblet a 167 for the Tigers.

JH basketball

The West Liberty-Salem 7th grade boys basketball team lost to Fairbanks, 40-21. Carson King led the Tigers with 4 points.

The WL-S 7th grade girls improved to 9-1 by defeating Fairbanks, 42-20. Emily Hollar had 14 points and Grace Winters chipped in 8 for the Tigers.

The WL-S 8th grade girls are 10-1 after beating Fairbanks, 56-11. For the Tigers, Sophie Cole led the way with 16 points. Grace Estes had 14, while Selena Weaver added 12 and Maddie Hutton had 8.
