Triad softball slugger Abby Ehrenborg recently signed her letter of intent to play softball for the University of Dayton.

Ehrenborg dazzled as a freshman, hitting .512 with 4 home runs and 30 RBI. She also earned All-OHC First Team status.

She missed Triad’s run to state her sophomore year due to a catastrophic knee injury, but returned last season to hit .576 with 9 home runs and 46 RBI. She also earned All-OHC First Team and All-Ohio Second Team honors.

Ehrenborg has played travel softball with Ohio Stingrays 99 for six years under Bill Skerbetz and Jeff Griffin.

“Both coaches were a vital part of Abby’s recruitment process with Dayton,” Christi Ehrenborg, her mother, said. “We are very thankful for her travel coaches and her high school coaches. They never gave up when Abby tore her ACL two seasons in a row playing basketball.”

Ehrenborg plans to major in physical therapy at Dayton.
