The OHSAA has announced the site for Friday’s Division VI, Region 24 football semifinal between Mechanicsburg (11-0) and Delphos Jefferson (10-1). The game will be played at Bellefontaine High School, with kickoff slated for 7:30 p.m.

“When you look at the possibilities,” M’burg Coach Kurt Forrest mused, naming Wapakoneta, Sidney and Piqua as alternatives, “when you talk about the best-case scenario, that was it.”

The Indians will be trying to erase bitter memories from the newly-built AcuSport Stadium.

“That’s where our season ended last year, so we are looking to turn that around a little bit,” Forrest said.

Last year, Marion Local edged Mechanicsburg out at Bellefontaine in a close, low-scoring affair.

“I feel a little better anytime we can play at a stadium with some sort of Indian mascot,” Forrest said. “That makes us feel a little bit more at home.”
