SPRINGFIELD – High Street United Methodist Church, 230 E. High St., will unveil and dedicate a new book that presents the church’s 167-year history during special All Saints Day services to be held Sunday, Nov. 6, at 9:30 and 11 a.m. This is only the second time in the church’s history that church archives and history have been dedicated, the first being in 1880.

Church historian Daniel Walter, a resident of Urbana, has completed a comprehensive, illustrated history that will be showcased in an audio-visual presentation during the services. All former pastors and contributors have been invited, and all members of the community are encouraged to attend as the church’s history parallels the pioneering and development of Springfield. The 300-page illustrated volume will be available for purchase ($20) following the services.

All contributors will be recognized, and a reception will follow the 9:30 service at 10:30 a.m.
