Tigers boys finish season
The WL-S boys cross country team finished 10th at the Division III regional meet at Troy on Saturday.
Nick Williams led the Tigers with a 10th place finish in 16:56, advancing to the state meet as an individual.
“The conditions were the toughest we’ve experienced at regional in my 11 years of coaching,” WL-S Coach Mike Louden said. “Nick has had a truly special second half of the season and that continued (Saturday). He ran the race like a veteran and was completely resilient throughout the entire race. He’s a gamer and just seems to raise his level when it’s needed the most.”
Noah Smith (27th, 17:38), Cade Clerico (57th, 18:20), Charlie Williams (96th, 19:32), Bryan Woods (100th, 19:44), Isaac Smith (102nd, 19:54) and Caleb Siegenthaler (105th, 20:09) also ran.
“I want to thank my four seniors: Michael Conley, Zavier Esch, Bryan Woods and Charlie Williams for dedicating so much time and effort into this program over their high school careers,” Louden said. “It’s because of young men like them that allow our program to be one of the top programs year after year.”
