The 19th annual Fashion To A Tea will be Oct. 13.

Fashion to a Tea has become a favorite event for many of the women in Champaign County and Clark County. This evening of elegance, humor and delicious cuisine is hosted by Breast Friends Forever, a local organization whose mission is “To Educate, Empower, Encourage, and Embrace all who are at risk for breast cancer.”

This year’s event will be at the Champaign County Fairgrounds. Doors and 32 vendor booths open at 5 p.m., with a program and speaker presentation beginning at 6 p.m. and dinner served at 6:30 p.m. The theme for this year’s evening is “Breast Cancer: Through the Years.”

Ticket holders will take a visual stroll down memory lane as Breast Cancer survivors and BFF committee members model clothes from various time periods throughout history and educate the audience about how breast cancer diagnosis and treatments have changed over the last centuries. The evening’s program will close with Selena Kemper, from Springfield Regional Imaging Center, describing how imaging has been developed through the years and how it may evolve in the future.

Tickets are on sale for $12 at Perpetual Federal Savings Bank in Urbana, the Champaign Family YMCA in Urbana, Mercy Memorial Hospital in Urbana, Gentle Care Health Center in Mechanicsburg, First Central National Bank in St. Paris and the Springfield Regional Cancer Center in Springfield.
