The Champaign County Genealogy Society will meet at 2 p.m. Saturday, May 21, in the Community Room of the Champaign County Library, 1060 Scioto St. Urbana. Speaker Derek Davey of Toledo will discuss Beginners Genealogy Research. His name is on the speaker list of the Ohio Genealogy Society. He got his start in genealogy when he was 13 and had an interest in finding Civil War members in his family. He is currently enrolled with Boston University Certification program for Genealogy.

The meeting is open to the public. Anyone interested in being an officer or keeping the society going is asked to attend. To date no one has stepped up and the current officers are resigning at the year’s end.
