



CONCORD TWP. – The cause of a house fire was under investigation Thursday evening after the dramatic blaze caused significant damage.
No injuries were reported from the fire at 4145 Church Road, Urbana, to which the Adams Township-Rosewood Fire Department responded at 1:10 p.m.
Rosewood Fire Chief Steve Ford said flames were visible at the back of the house when fire personnel arrived. Ford said the home was occupied at the time of the fire and one of its residents was notified by a neighbor that the house was on fire.
Ford said three animals were inside the residence and all three survived.
No damage estimate was provided but Ford said the fire caused major damage to the home. The origin of the fire is also under investigation.
The Johnson-St. Paris Fire District along with the West Liberty Fire Department provided mutual aid.
The property is owned by Richard and Sheila Wynia, according to the Champaign County Auditor’s website.
