Bryce Jones and Annie Steiner are Seniors of the Month at West Liberty-Salem High School Here are their comments.
Bryce Jones
PARENTS: Tim and Chrissy Jones
School Activities and Awards: Basketball film crew, Baseball
If I were principal for a day: I would have a pizza party for the whole school then let everyone go home early.
Favorite school memory: Sitting back watching all the funny things students did in the lunch room
People who have been an inspiration to me include: My dad
Because: he is the one who taught me my values and has helped me get to where I am in my life. I wouldn’t be the same person without him.
My advice to parents: Keep your kids focused on school but don’t forget to let them be kids
My biggest regret: Not keeping my gpa as high as I could in my first few years of high school
Next year I will be: Attending Wright State University to become an engineer.
Annie Steiner
PARENTS: Doug & Ellen Steiner
School Activities and Awards: Drama Club, Musical, NHS, Calc Club, Choir, Honda Math Medal, Academic Excellence 4 Years
If I were principal for a day: I would ride around the school on an elephant and make a mandatory nap time.
Favorite school memory: Pajama Day
People who have been an inspiration to me include: My parents, friends, and teachers
Because: for better and for worse they have influence who I become.
Lately, I have been reading: Everything I can get my hands on
My advice to parents: High school students are always smart when you expect them to be stupid, and stupid when you expect them to be smart.
My biggest regret: I don’t have a pet puma.
Next year I will be: Attending Goshen College with a Major in Pre-Medicine and a second Major in either English or Music.
