The Urbana Racers rugby team defeated the South Dayton War Pigs, 64-12, on April 30.

Scoring for the Racers were Seth Miller 4 tries and 6 conversions, Zach Vernon 2 tries, Mark Shaffner 2 tries, Stephen Dunham 2 tries and Austin Colvin 1 conversion.

The Racers have won home field advantage for the first round of the state playoffs. That first round match is tentatively scheduled for May 18 at 6:30 p.m. at the Urbana Melvin Miller Park soccer fields.

Also, Pro Rugby OHIO beat San Francisco in their first home match Sunday, 51 – 17.

Summer Youth Flag Rugby registrations for all area boys and girls, ages 7-11 and 12-14 (2nd-8th grade, going on 9th) are now available. Draft day for all players will be held on Wednesday, June 1 at 5 p.m. at Urbana Melvin Miller Park soccer fields.

Matches will begin Sunday, June 12 at 2 p.m. and every Sunday until July 24 at Urbana Melvin Miller Park soccer fields.
