South Elementary School raised over $2,000 for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society through a Pennies for Patients fundraiser Feb. 26 to March 18. The second and third grade students led by Social Services Coordinator Angie Hackley were looking for a way for South Elementary to help others, and they chose Pennies for Patients. The goal was to raise $750. School Counselor Cris Dorsey agreed to have his beard dyed green and have the school nurse shave half of it off if students exceeded the goal.
