MECHANICSBURG –Speaker Marc Mero will talk with Triad and Mechanicsburg students, and the community at large, in a collection of speaking events April 8.

Mero is founder of “Champion of Choices,” a production that addresses bullying, peer pressure, substance abuse and suicide. Mero also works with companies wishing to address these issues in their environments. Mero is based in Florida.

Mero will speak at Mechanicsburg Exempted Village Schools at 8:45 a.m. and at Triad Local Schools at 1 p.m. There will be a “Community Night” event at 6:30 p.m. in the Mechanicsburg gymnasium where Mero will speak to community members, Mechanicsburg FFA Advisor and teacher Kevin Neer said. The FF and Mechanicsburg and Triad schools are sponsoring the speaking engagements.

All are welcome to attend the community event that evening, Neer said.

The goal is for Mero’s presentation to change students’ thinking about themselves and others, and give them hope for the future, according to the website, www.thinkpoz.org. The website also states goals of strengthening families and society, providing youths with life skills and improving school cultures.
