A driver was cited in connection to an incident that caused an Ohio Department of Transportation vehicle to roll over earlier this week.

According to the Springfield Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol, Tiffany M. Jones, 24, of Mechanicsburg, was cited for failure to yield following a crash near the intersection of Yankee Hill Road and state Route 161 at 3:48 p.m. Tuesday.

Trooper David Dingeman said Jones was traveling northbound on Yankee Hill Road when she came to a stop sign. Jones turned left onto state Route 161 as an ODOT truck operated by Michael G. Risner was traveling westbound.

Dingeman said Risner took evasive action and tried to swerve to the right before going off the road into a field. While Risner did not strike anything, the plow vehicle rolled once before coming back on the vehicle’s wheels.

Risner was transported to Mercy Memorial Hospital, Urbana, where he was treated and released on Tuesday.

Dingeman said Jones’ vehicle sustained no damage as it was not struck, while the ODOT vehicle sustained damage to its roof and windows.
